Want a Job?
As a Calaveras Hills High School student, you can receive up to 20 work experience elective credits toward graduation. This is the process for earning credits:
- Apply for a work permit.
- Show your paystubs with your HOURS worked to Mrs. Dela Cruz.
- For each 15 hours worked, you will receive 1 elective credit.
- You can earn up to 10 credits per academic year as an 11th grader and up to 10 credits per academic year as a 12th grader.
Remember that if you are under 18 years old, you need to have a work permit in order to work while you are in high school. If you have any questions about work permits, please talk with your advisor or Ms. Marel in the main office.
Steps to get a Work Permit
- Talk to your advisor first to see if you qualify (no missing assignments, unresolved class issues, etc).
- You must have good attendance (90% total verified)
- Get the work permit application from your advisor or click HERE for a copy of the work permit application form.
- Go on an interview and secure the job.
- Fill out the work permit form completely. This form requires signatures from both prospective boss and your guardian.
- Bring the signed form to review by Admin in the office.
- Return to the office to pick up the work permit when directed.
- Turn in paycheck stubs or screen shots withyour toal hours worked to Mrs. Dela Cruz.
